First of all, wow! We're already 70% funded, and it couldn't have happened without all of you!
You are all amazing. I am so grateful for your support, and It's awesome to see this project find its wings. I know it's been quiet for the last few days, so it's time to pull back the curtain: we've been hard at work double and triple checking all of our CAD files, and making final tweaks based on Beta Program Feedback, and the final design changes we wanted to make.
As of today, I can confidently say that Beta V11 is complete, and we'll be starting final validations! A short while ago, some of you asked me about the finalized pump bracket design, and if it would be shown. I promised an update a few days later, so let's get into details.
The Pump Bracket
Designing a Flexible Pump Bracket is incredibly difficult. Most pumps have a different mounting system, and there is no real standard for pump mounting shared by any of the manufacturers. In order to accomodate as many pumps as possible, we had to design something flexible enough to be used in mulitple orientations, with a variety of hole spacings. We achieved this with the angled-V pattern that you see below, as well as 4 mounting holes in the case, that are used to shift the bracket into different positions.
As a side note, These same 4 holes in the front panel are also used for mounting the drive cage, and are open to anyone who wants to 3D print some sort attachment to fit into that space. We will be releasing the dimensions of the front panel holes for modders to use.
The Winter One Pump Bracket can be used in 9 different configurations. The Block at the edge of the bracket allows for vertical or horizontal mounts. As a result, this pump bracket allows you to quickly and easily mount almost any pump, to the front panel of the case. Usually there are 1-3 orientations that will work with most pumps.
A Windowed Panel?
A lot of you have requested that we consider a windowed panel. While it's not possible to do right now, we have started the design of one, that we will make purchaseable in the future, alongside our other panel options. Tempered Glass is in short supply right now, and the prices are astronomically high, so we're looking at alternate materials to bring this to you at a reasonable cost. But the time frame for this launch is too short for us to currently add an entirely new part to this build, so it will have to come at a later date.
That's all for now, but I hope you all have a wonderful day. Thank you for taking the time to read this!
